The starting point for each image in the Void series is an empty file, a blank white canvas. The seed for the image may be a small black rectangle or one of the small number of patterns Photoshop can auto-generate such as random noise, which I then digitally manipulate. Believing in creativity through constraints, I allow myself only a constrained set of manipulations, excluding any kind of drawing, painting or retouching tool. Unlike the Fundament series I do allow myself Photoshop’s built-in filters.
