For centuries a goal of art has been to reproduce the beauty of the female nude. In the Fundament range, I work in the other direction, taking as my starting point the photograph Female bottom isolated against a black background by Russian photographer Alexey Fiodorov. I digitally manipulate this image, utilising the model’s perfect curves and the texture of her skin. Believing in creativity through constraints, I allow myself only a highly constrained set of manipulations; I exclude any kind of drawing, painting or retouching tool and exclude all of Photoshop’s built-in filters.
